100 hand-picked industry leaders. 3 days of radical immersion. A gathering that balanced knowledge with play, creativity with connection, and professional growth with genuine belonging.
· · ·
It began with a dream shared between three founding partners — Light Talk ID, Studio Sensar, and DUA Lighting:
“What if we could build a space where light becomes a shared language — one that connects people, ideas, and emotions across the industry?”
Not another conference with name tags and fluorescent halls. But a gathering that balances knowledge with play, creativity with connection, and professional growth with genuine belonging.
They envisioned an unforgettable welcome dinner at a secret location, hands-on challenges where experts learn by doing, and a closing night where ogoh-ogoh fire meets gamelan music.
So they built it. And a hundred people came from across the region to see if it was real.
It was.
A hundred minds converged in the heart of Bali. They left behind their titles, their daily grinds, and the fluorescent lights of the studio. Instead, they found a community.
Each installation, conversation, and shared meal was a reminder that this community shines brightest when we come together. It was three days where every moment — from challenge to celebration — was designed not around a schedule, but around belonging.
The lighting community already had it. That quiet sense of recognition when you meet someone who understands the obsession — the way light falls at 5pm, the weight of a design decision that nobody else in the room notices. The wordless nod across a showroom floor.
Enlightened Bali didn't invent that connection. It simply gave it a place to live. Three days, a secret location in Ubud, and an open invitation to stop being professionals for a moment — and just be people who love light.

Enlightened Bali doesn't follow the format. It invented its own. Here's what happened across three days that no amount of slides could replicate.
All participants were brought to a secret location they didn't know. What awaited was a unique and unforgettable theatrical dinner in Ubud — an opening act that shattered every professional barrier before the retreat even officially began.
“By the time dessert arrived, strangers from eight countries were sketching light installations on napkins together.” — Attendee
Speaker sessions paired with live challenges. Thierry Boon, Endrawan Nimpuno, and Arwin Amir explored decorative lighting as communication between interior and lighting design — then launched the Decorative Lighting Challenge. Elizabeth Toth, Azelia Pattiasina, Abdi Ahsan, and Dennis T. explored the human experience in lighting and AI, followed by the Lighting Photography Challenge.
“It's the only event where I've seen a senior architect and a fresh graduate competing on the same team — and the graduate won.” — Speaker
Tatsuya Iwai's international keynote. The “Dimension in Living Light” photo exhibition. And a closing gala at The Meru where a traditional Ogoh-Ogoh light show met gamelan music— proving cultural heritage and cutting-edge design belong in the same breath.
“The Ogoh-Ogoh performance didn't just close the event. It closed the gap between tradition and innovation in my mind.” — Attendee
Lumimedia Lab Japan
His keynote on The Light of Japan shared the importance of cultural influence as the foundation of designing in a holistic approach. He captivated the audience with stories of how Lumimedia Lab incorporates timeless principles into innovative projects that honor heritage while pushing creative boundaries.
The speech concluded with a thought-provoking call to embrace cultural roots as a source of inspiration and strength in the ever-evolving design landscape.
“Tatsuya didn't present. He performed. And every single person in that room walked out a different designer.”
— Audience member, EB 2025
Don't take our word for it. Watch every session uncut. This is the intellectual foundation that makes EB different.

“I've attended lighting conferences on four continents. Nothing — nothing — comes close to what Enlightened Bali created. This wasn't an event. It was a reboot for my entire design philosophy.”
“We flew in from Tokyo expecting a conference. We left having experienced something that fundamentally changed how our studio approaches cultural design.”
“The secret dinner in Ubud alone was worth the trip. By day two, I had three new collaborations brewing. By day three, I was planning my return before it even ended.”
“Most events put speakers on pedestals. EB put them in the same room, at the same table, eating the same food. That's where real conversations happen.”

Last year was a closed-door, invitation-only retreat. This year, we're opening the doors — transforming from an intimate gathering into a full-scale Pasar Malam at Big Garden Corner, Sanur.
Same uncompromising curation. Same caliber of international speakers. Same magic. But now, you can actually be part of it — if you move fast enough.
A sprawling venue that becomes a living, breathing village of light — the Pasar Malam reimagined.
20x the scale. Same intimate curation. Public festival meets professional depth.
One more day. More sessions. More installations. More of what made 2025 unforgettable.
If Tatsuya Iwai was 2025, imagine what we have planned when the stage gets bigger.
The journey continues. What began with #LightsBeyondLimit is growing into something bigger. We will see you at Enlightened Bali 2026.
